Teaser: Events Manager 2.0 for Worpress

Ladies and gentleman,
it’s time for an official announcement. Among my 21 feed readers I am sure there’s at least a couple of Events Manager aficionados. I have very very good news for them.

Events Manager 2.0 is almost ready for a public beta and it sports a number of fancy new features:

  • Location Management with images for the locations and a new multiple locations map

  • Respondez s’il vous plait. Reservations can be enabled for each event.

  • Recurring/repeated events. Yes, finally! Events can now be planned on a weekly or monthly bases, or simply in consecutive days.

Events Manager 2.0 is still under development, but I will issue a stable beta in a couple of weeks. I will announce the beta release in this blog, with a post that will showcase the new features and give my sponsors‘ the credit they deserve.
Meanwhile, stay tuned!

Hi Davide, I’d be willing to discuss sponsoring some further development on this plugin. I’ve tried a bunch of other events plugins and I like yours the best.

There are 2 features I’d like to see added. If you care to get back to me, we can discuss it further.

    Thanks tjk

I have a problem with the date of every event of my blog wordpress. There is the same date (3rd may 2009) for every event at the top of page.

    Thank you

    Hi there

Just installed it into my WP 2.8.2 web site (linux/apache/latest mysql) and I’m getting an error with the database fields. This appears at the top of the main Events Manager page:

WordPress database error: [Unknown column 'eventid' in 'field list'] SELECT eventid, eventname, DATEFORMAT(eventstarttime, ‘%e’) AS ‘eventday’, DATEFORMAT(eventstarttime, ‘%Y’) AS ‘eventyear’, DATEFORMAT(eventstarttime, ‘%k’) AS ‘eventhh’, DATEFORMAT(eventstarttime, ‘%i’) AS ‘eventmm’, DATEFORMAT(eventendtime, ‘%e’) AS ‘eventendday’, DATEFORMAT(eventendtime, ‘%Y’) AS ‘eventendyear’, DATEFORMAT(eventendtime, ‘%k’) AS ‘eventendhh’, DATEFORMAT(eventendtime, ‘%i’) AS ‘eventendmm’, eventstartdate, eventenddate, eventstarttime, eventendtime, eventnotes, eventrsvp, recurrenceid, locationid, eventcontactpersonid FROM wpdbemevents WHERE eventstartdate >= ‘2009-09-29′ OR (eventenddate >= ‘2009-09-29′ AND eventenddate != ‘0000-00-00′ AND eventenddate IS NOT NULL) ORDER BY eventstart_date LIMIT 20 OFFSET 0

Any thoughts on what might be going wrong. Looks like a good events manager.

Installed events manager 2 with WordPress 2.8.6 and Headway 1.5. Events Manager seems to be disabling the Headway Layout Editor — with it activated, I cannot access “add a leaf” for any pages (Home, About, Events, etc.). I’d love to use this — the RSVP function would be terrifically helpful for this — Help?

  6. MaryAnne says:

Correction: Obviously, I meant Headway 1.01. Sorry –

  7. Andrew Long says:

I have recently installed the events manager plugin for wordpress and I am having a little problem in that when someone registers for an event it keeps putting the same person in. Is there any reason why this would happen any suggestions would be a great help.
