Hello and welcome to my humble abode.
I am the guy in the picture.
I was born in Verona in 1978.
Ever since I was a kid I have been playing with computers, and once upon a time thought I would become a programmer, which I am, more or less, among other things.
Yet, in a bizarre twist of the events, I decided to turn into a humanist and started to play the fiddle. The two things converged and I developed an interest in Irish music and literature. Where interest stands for love.
In 2000 I had the opportunity to spend one year in the beautiful town of Galway, on the Western shore of Ireland, where I picked up some music and some language.
When back, I got my degree in English literature and, after some time spent teaching English, I started a PhD in literary sciences. In this context, I studied the influence of the Irish oral tradition on Irish literature. I completed my PhD in 2007.
Of course I never stopped working with computers, and learned web design and development. I made a number of websites, take a look at my portfolio.
Nowadays I mostly work as a translator in the IT field and as a web designer. I am freelance, which means you can contact me to get some work done. At the same time, I am still a humanist and if there is a vacancy in your English department and you are interested in someone specialised in Irish literature, here I am.
Have a look at my professional and academic CV. Also, don’t forget to check the sections of this webstite ilustrating my fields of expertise and interest.
